I'm so excited to introduce to you Mr. & Mrs. Gillen! Getting to capture Jerrad & Rebecca's Manhattan wedding this August was a wonderful treat! There was so much joy and love shown on their wedding day, and everyone could see it.
But to fully appreciate their day, we have to start at the beginning. Jerrad & Rebecca met in March of 2015 and what a whirlwind romance it was! Serious fairytale feels, guys. They started dating that April, then in the summer Jerrad went to field training for the Air Force, forcing their romance to be long distance. They spent the summer writing love letters to each other back and forth. Then on December 22, 2015 after making reservations to Rebecca's favorite jazz bistro in Fort Collins, Jerrad took her outside to a little square with twinkle lights. He took her hand and began to dance with her as snow started falling softly onto the ground. (I mean GUYS. <3) Right then and there he got down on one knee and asked her to be his forever. And 8 months later here we are! Their wedding day was so fun! These people know how to love and know how to party. Every chance he got, Jerrad pulled his new wife closer and kissed her. Whenever I asked them to do so for a picture, he already had her in his arms by the time I finished my sentence. These two are so in love, and I feel honored to have gotten the chance to capture their special day. Enjoy their album! We sure enjoyed taking them. GUYS. I'm so unbelievably stoked to share this session with you. There's an unspeakable joy that happens in my soul when I get the honor to photograph dream clients, not to mention great friends, in a KILLER location and they go ALL OUT, like dressed to the 9's all out.. I was practically jumping out of my chair editing these. <3
I've known Michael for 3 years when he started coming to the campus ministry I was involved with. The passion for God and the love he showed so many people was clearly evident earlier this year at his graduation party when SO many people showed up to love on him.. I met Kimberly last year when she came to an event our campus ministry held in the summer of 2015. I had the pleasure of hosting her in my home and her fierce personality matched with her hunger for the Lord was so endearing. When they started dating last year I knew a wonderful match had been made. These two are both so driven and passionate about God, each other, and their chosen professions. Michael was Andrew's best man at our wedding, and ironically enough he was the one to catch the garter. So when he proposed to Kimberly a few months later, and they asked me to shoot their engagement photos I couldn't say no! We met at Lake of the Ozarks, along with my handy assistant, Ryan, who was stepping in for my sick husband. We hiked up to these phenomenal castle ruins and had a blast! Who would have thought Missouri held such beautiful views!? Take some time to view their gallery cause these two are SMOKIN! But seriously, grab a glass of wine, play some classical music, and click on the first picture to view in slideshow format. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed taking them! Heading to Ally's house last Friday night I was so nervous. I thought I would get there and have to turn right back around and reschedule. The sky was dark, stormy, and it had started sprinkling right when I arrived. Something in me told me to go for it anyway, and I thank the Lord we did! The overcast skies actually worked in our favor and made the photos so soft & dreamy! We adventured all over her huge backyard in a kubota driven by her mom. I still can't believe we were able to get this much variety in only an hour!
Ally loves sports and indie music. She's a senior in Topeka wanting to go to medical school next year and begin her journey to becoming a doctor, preferably surgical. Upon hearing that I immediately asked the obvious next question: "So do you watch Grey's Anatomy?" Her response, "Duh." ;) To view her gallery click on the first photo and browse them slideshow style! I'm so excited to share these two with you all today! With every couple I'm reminded how blessed I am to be able to capture people's love stories, no matter what season of life. God is so so good ya'll! I'm elated to introduce to you guys Will & Jordann. I did a quick mini session with them on the way to Wisconsin for a family reunion a few weeks ago. They were celebrating one year of marriage and wanted to do a quiet, intimate session in their home in Kansas City with their fluffy golden doodle, Kamp. They welcomed Andrew & I into their home with puppy kisses, coffee, and worship music. What more could a girl want!?
Their love for each other spoke volumes as I was able to capture their life raw and authentically. There's something about shooting a couple in their home that is so memorable. I hope Jordann and Will look back on these photos and remember their first year of marriage in their adorable little KC duplex. Happy 1 year you two! Thank you for letting me photograph your story. {Tip: Click on the first picture to view them in slideshow format!} |
